You will be working as Buyer and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Large Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Procurement and Logistics Manager and will be responsible for leading a functional work team of buyers, procurement specialists and analysts for delivering the accurate and timely procurement activities like transactional purchasing, e-sourcing, data management and reporting. Ensuring execution in accordance with company procurement and logistics instructions and procedures.
Your responsibilities
Managing the execution and tracking of procurement activities within the team, while ensuring quality of delivery service at improved transactional cost
Ensuring buyers minimize the risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures in accordance with company guidelines
Ensuring the accurate application of group PL (Procurement and Logistics) guidelines and local standard operating procedures (SOPs) for driving the improvement in cost, quality, delivery and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities and purchased material inventory)
Proposing improvements for standard operating procedures wherever opportunities for optimization are detected
Having a costing knowledge in the electrical, automation and relevant project items. Ensuring that the sales team has been supported with the best price in the market in-turn after sales the same shall be benefitted by the PL (Procurement and Logistics) team
Investigating the problems, finding the root cause and recommending the improvement for existing and planned PL processes
Identifying suppliers, contract negotiations, contract management, bid analysis, sales support, supplier performance, order management, customer alignment and process alignment. Handling of civil, electrical and instrumentation erection contractors
Your background
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience
Knowledge in the specific area to execute complex or specialized projects or challenges
Experience in delivery and procurement, cost estimation, strategic sourcing, negotiation management, supplier management, operational purchasing and logistics
Knowledge on SAP material module functions
