The Opportunity:
ECI has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Escalation Engineer, who is primarily responsible for facilitating high level customer inquiries and improving our services to maintain customer satisfaction and retention of ECI’s Systems Services clients. The POC must also have strong attention to detail, an excellent communicator, ability to work in a process & standards driven framework, enjoy working in a fast-paced/high-volume environment, and exercise time management with precision.
In this role, The Systems Escalation Engineer must possess a strong, generalized IT skillset to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide variety of technologies, specifically from alerts that are sourced from Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, network devices and circuits, environment monitors, and 3rd party monitoring systems.
Linux Systems Administration:
Manage, monitor, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Implement and oversee system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to maintain up-to-date and secure environments.
AWS and Azure Cloud Management:
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and other cloud services.
Optimize and scale cloud resources to ensure cost-efficiency and high availability.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security measures and best practices to safeguard Linux servers and cloud environments against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to cloud security.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Utilize monitoring tools (Logic Monitor) to proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues, taking appropriate actions to resolve them.
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks and enhance system efficiency.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain detailed documentation, procedures, and configurations for Linux systems and cloud environments.
Share knowledge and provide training to team members to enhance collective expertise in Linux and cloud technologies.
