National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs) at
Hyderabad (Telangana) and Hajipur (Bihar) are autonomous institutes of national
Importance under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of
Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India created by an Act of Parliament.
NIPER Hyderabad has been ranked as No. 1st and NIPER Hajipur as No. 44th in
the country under ‘Pharmacy’ category in the National Institutional Ranking
Framework (NIRF), 2023 released by the Ministry of Education.
The mandate of the Institutes is to create human resource of a high calibre to serve
the academic and research institutes and the Indian pharmaceutical industry so as
to undertake cutting edge research & development in the area of drugs &
pharmaceutical and help the Indian pharma industry achieve its goal to become a
global leader. Both Institutes are fully equipped with laboratories and
instructional facilities and ideally placed for intellectual interaction with the
several medical, scientific and technological institutes in their vicinity.
Name of the Post Director –
(i) NIPER- Hyderabad
(ii) NIPER- Hajipur
Duration Term of five years’ subject to maximum of 70 years of age on
contractual basis.
Expectation Director as institutional head will be responsible for the
Institution building of the NIPER towards achieving the
mandate/ functions outlined in NIPER Act, 1998, as amended
from time, including imparting education at undergraduate, PG,
Doctoral and post-doctoral level, R&D, and other professional
works of the institution. Takes accountability for the delivery of
results expected under provisions of NIPER Act, 1998, as
amended from time to time.
Salary/
remuneration
Fixed salary of Rs 2,25,000 in Level 17 per month as per 7th CPC
on contractual basis, as per the rules and regulation
prescribed.
Eligibility Education Ph.D and Masters in Pharmaceuticals related
areas of Science and Technology.
Professional
experience
At least 20 years research experience including
teaching and published work in journals of
repute. Should have worked for at least 10 years
as Professor (on regular pay scale) either in
India or abroad or Scientist at Research
Institutes of repute [Scientist G (on regular pay
scale), (Level-14 (Rs.1,44,200 to Rs.2,18,200), as
per 7th CPC or holding a proven leadership
position at Pharmaceutical Industry in R&D.
Administrative
experience
Proven leadership/ administrative experience.
Personality An innovative thinker who can critically assess
the NIPER’s current position and offer a
compelling vision for the future to build an
innovation ecosystem. The candidate should be
energetic with futuristic outlook. An intense
focus on institutional building in a holistic sense
is a desired attribute.
