Job Role Description:
1.A thorough understanding on Linux
Redhat 6 and SUSE is a perquisite for this Role.
2.This Role will play the Technical
Lead Role for the Linux Team of 3 Members.
3.Good understanding of a UNIX –
based operating system: TCP/IP networking : system and network performance
tuning, trouble shooting and security
4.Ability to write programs in at
least one of : Perl , Python, Shell.
5.Ability to solve problems quickly
and completely, and document your solutions.
6.Strong inter-personal and
communication skills. Must enjoy being part of a team, and be a team player.
7.Ability to identify recurring
tasks which require automation and automate them.
8.Be available for a 24/7 on-call
support.
9.Have substantial experience and
depth of knowledge in at least one area of system administration, e.g.,
backups, monitoring, security,
networking, performance tuning.
10.Ability to balance multiple
competing priorities and still complete tasks on time.
11.5-7 years of experience in
managing RedHat / HP-UX / SuSE Linux servers in a development and production
environment.
12.Good communication and
analytical skills to interact with users and identify problems
13.Excellent working knowledge with
RedHat, SuSE based Linux distributions and HP-UX OS
14.Perl/shell scripting
15.Installing non-standard software
from source code
16.Familiarity with standard server
software (Apache, BIND, Postfix, Sendmail, yum, LDAP, NFS, MySQL, PostgreSQL,
Oracle Database technologies)
17.RPM packaging
18.Performing changes adhering to
Change Management processes.
19.Resolving and providing
solutions to incidents.
