Job Requirements:

PayPal Core Payment team is looking for a talented, creative, and passionate back end engineer to help build a new payment authorization engine. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment building performance efficient payment authorization services that are highly scalable, configurable and available. You will be responsible for building this engine that processes close to 10 million payments per day. You will work in an agile environment with a focus on problem solving and engineering excellence. There are several technology choices for you to work on, with main focus on Java, Python, NoSQL Database.

 You must meet following expectations:
1.BE in computer Science with 2+ years experience in related field.
2.You’ve developed various high traffic backend services for external customer facing web applications.
3.You know inside out of fundamentals of Python, Java, specifically JDK7, JUnit, Maven, Jenkins & Sonar.
4.You’ve build your web applications and services using open-source Java Frameworks: Spring MVC & JAX-5.RS 2.0 implementations (e.g. RestEasy, Jersey or Apache CXF).
6.You’ve designed web applications and clearly understand concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs.
7.You love Git and are at home with Merge/Rebase concepts.
8.You’ve comfortable using AppServers like Tomcat, JBOSS.
9.You’ve thoroughly used SQL & NoSQL solutions and understand pros and cons of relational and free form databases.
10.You’ve built REST APIs using JAX-RS or other leading open-source frameworks.
11.You believe in Agile development and are comfortable with SCRUM process.
12.You know how to identify Performance bottlenecks and use good coding patterns to avoid them in the first place.
13.You’re a strong advocate of good coding standards and preach code-coverage tools like Sonar.
14.You hit the ground running on day 1 and take the ownership of your work and can work independently.
